David’s first puppet show at age five was standing on the washing machine while performing through a basement window. He attended Tampa Catholic High School and started public speaking, won several competitions in Humorous Interpretation and began his acting career when he appeared in “CHARLEY'S AUNT” in 1969. David has been active in Community Theater in Tampa, Fl. Thomasville and Moultrie, Ga. His performances include over 55 stage productions. He has directed shows for the Colquitt County Arts Center in Moultrie and Thomasville On Stage in Thomasville Ga. In 1989 he was the Georgia State VICA Gold Medallist in Extemporaneous Speaking and placed 7th in the nation in Tulsa OK. In 1995 he wrote and recorded a puppet play about nutrition for Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany Ga. In 1988 David began puppeteering professionally and since that time he has performed more than 800 shows in over 250 different locations. He has performed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Ohio and Tennessee. David has a long term goal of continuing his puppetry for as long as he can manage and to pass his knowledge on to as many children and adults as possible. Serge Latour has been helping Mr. Dave backstage for years and now he has become an active puppeteer adding more puppets to the shows. Serge has worked as a Biologist and has a background in education. Serge has been working with David to develop new shows which include science and biology in the programs. New workshops are being developed to teach the art of puppeteering to a variety of venues including the Monticello Opera House in Monticello Florida and IsKidsInc. in Albany Ga. |
