The Merry O'Netters performed at the old CoCroft Music Store in downtown Thomasville, Georgia on St. Patrick's day 2007 and for the Rose Show festival. Sadly, the music store is now out of business. We had the pleasure of performing many shows in the music store and we will miss doing shows in the old building. Mr. Dave had the privilege of working with two new budding puppeteers and they helped Mr. Dave perform before an audience of around 30 children and adults, some coming from Tallahassee Florida to see the show. In May of 2008, David and Serge worked with the drama group at Bishop Hall in Thomasville Ga. where they performed the Wizard Of Oz for a full house as part of there final grade for the year. All thanks to their hard work and it was a wonderful success! In April of 2009 David conducted a workshop at Godby High School in Tallahasse Florida for the drama classes there and several budding puppeteers showed their colors while working with the marionettes. On June 1st, 2009, David and Serge conducted a puppet workshop for the Kolomoki Methodist Church Camp at Kolomoki State Park near Blakely Ga. and about 100 young folks participated in making their own sock puppet and they learned how to work a marionette puppet. More workshops are in the planning stages and we hope to work closely with IsKids Inc. of Albany Ga. to provide puppeteering classes in the future in the Albany area. Also, we are working with Thomasville On Stage & Company in Thomasville Ga. and the Monticello Opera House in Monticello Florida to provide workshops and performances for the public in the near future. |
